(Please note: this hotel is not suitable for young travelers seeking a lively music and nightlife scene.) Regarding the location, hotel “Metaxa” is situated few minute walk from the long sandy beach of Kalamaki which is a number one preference for the Caretta-Caretta turtles to make nests. Kalamaki is on the southeast coast of the island, about 2.5 km northeast of Laganas and 5 km south of the island's capital, Zakynthos. It is just 3 km from the airport and 5 km from the port. Nearest mini-market is within 200 m, bus-stop – 200 m, pharmacy and private medicine centre – 400 m, public hospital – 5 km. The main street of Kalamaki, which is reachable within 3 minutes’ walk, has plenty of restaurants with Greek, Italian and Eastern cuisine and bars / pubs.
